This threatened the organisation's ability to continue its work and put its concert venue at risk.Notably, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center opened in 2006. It was central to the orchestra's performances. A financial rescue agreement was reached in June 2013. It helped prevent the venue from being lost to foreclosure. A new contract was signed in August and included a 15% pay cut. The organisation had also announced staff reductions and other cost-cutting steps.
