How Pritish A R developed his passion for drumming
Pritish’s interest in music started before he began schooling. As a young child, he frequently made sounds with his toys.At five, his mother enrolled him in a kindergarten programme that involves a bus filled with musical instruments. Soon it was an experience that caught his interest.
He subsequently started taking weekly lessons and practising daily. Reportedly, determined to improve, he remained developing his skills until he passed the highest level of drum examination possible. It was after this achievement that his mother suggested trying a world record. Since Pritish had always wished to learn how to perform drum rolls at exceptional speed, the challenge seemed a natural next step.
How he broke the drumbeats world record
Breaking the record needed months of preparation. Pritish practised consistently for seven months before his official try.The early record stood at 2,109 drumbeats in one minute, achieved by India's Siddharth Nagarajan when he was 20 years old.
Pritish produced 2,370 beats in 60 seconds, surpassing the early mark by 261 beats. The result was also checked with a pressure-sensitive microphone, with experienced sound engineers counting the beats to corroborate the drumometer's reading.

What inspires Pritish beyond music?
Although drumming remains his main passion, Pritish enjoys many activities beyond music. His interests include swimming, indoor climbing, cricket and martial arts.Music is his favourite school subject, but he also enjoys mathematics, sports, technology and geography.
In an interview with The Indian Sun, Pritish mirrored the beginnings of his musical journey. “I used to always make sounds with my toys when I was little,” he said. “The loudness of the toms and the use of all my limbs connected me with the kit, I don’t like to keep my limbs idle and that’s the start of my music journey with drums.”
His remarks emphasize how an early childhood interest became a serious pursuit through lessons and sustained practice.
