Meet Georgie: What to know about Olympic champion Tara Lipinski’s three-year-old daughter who is following in the footsteps of her mother

Tara Lipinski began roller skating at the age of three before moving to figure skating at six. Now, her three-year-old daughter Georgie started to explore the same sport. Lipinski has shared several moments from her daughter's early skating experiences, including a recent performance.

Who is Georgie, Tara Lipinski’s daughter?

Georgie is the daughter of former Olympic figure skating champion and her husband, sports producer Todd Kapostasy.

In a recent Instagram post, Lipinski reflected when she watched her three-year-old daughter skate independently and felt proud afterward reminded her of those lessons.

“Skating has given me so much in my life, but one of its greatest gifts has always been the lessons that go far beyond the ice,” she wrote. Lipinski added that she loved watching Georgie discover what she was capable of.

Georgie first stepped onto the ice when she was around nine months old. Lipinski told PEOPLE in May 2025 that her daughter enjoyed skating alongside her and was beginning to stand on her skates. The family had temporarily stopped skating after being affected by the Palisades fire, but Lipinski said she planned to take Georgie back onto the ice.

In September 2026, Lipinski shared pictures from Georgie's first day of preschool. One photograph showed the toddler holding a sign listing her favourite things and her dream for the future.

The sign read, “When I grow up I want to be [an] ice skater.” It also listed “skating, mommy, daddy” among the things Georgie loves.

Georgie takes part in an ice-skating performance

On October 25, Lipinski shared videos and pictures from Georgie's recent ice-skating performance on her Instagram Stories, as per People.

The toddler wore a sparkly pink figure-skating dress, a glittery purple helmet and white ice skates. She performed to Chappell Roan's song “Pink Pony Club” as Lipinski, Kapostasy and other family members cheered from the stands.

Lipinski captioned one of the videos, “Here’s our pink pony girl! She did so well.” In another clip, Georgie could be seen skating in a circle, dancing to the music and performing a dance move. She finished by bowing to the audience, briefly losing her balance before catching herself.

The proud mother later shared a video of herself holding Georgie after the performance. She asked her daughter, “Are you proud of yourself? Do you feel so proud of yourself?” before giving her a kiss on the forehead.

Lipinski also thanked figure-skating dress designer Brad Griffies for Georgie's outfit, adding that her daughter did not want to take it off. The performance moved the family, too, with a follow-up video showing Georgie's aunties crying after watching her on the ice.
