Cillian holds the Guinness World Record for the most magic tricks performed in one minute by a person under 16, finishing 28 tricks in 60 seconds. His achievements also went beyond the stage, with his story emphasizing the importance of recognising skills rather than limitations.
How Cillian O’Connor discovered magic
Cillian’s interest in magic started when he was seven years old. His initial experience of a magic trick came from his uncle Dessie, who appeared to split his thumb in half before putting it back together. The illusion frightened Cillian so much that he ran away, worried that his own thumb might fall off. A year later, however, his view changed when he watched magician Issy Simpson compete on Britain’s Got Talent.
Simpson finished as the runner-up at just eight years old, the same age Cillian was at the time. Her performance motivated him to pursue magic himself.
Since then, Cillian has appeared on national and international television, like Britain’s Got Talent, where he finished third. He has also presented a TEDx talk, become an ambassador for Marvin’s Magic and received the brand’s Rising Star Award in Los Angeles.

He has also worked with AsIAm, Ireland’s national autism charity, and spoken at Stanford University’s Child Talk conference.
