Meet Ace-Liam Ankrah, a Ghana toddler who has set the record as the world’s youngest male artist
Ghanaian toddler Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s youngest male artist. His journey started accidentally at six months old when he encountered his mother Chantelle Kukua Eghan’s acrylic paints w...

While working on her own artwork, Eghan wanted to keep her son occupied. She positioned a canvas and painted on the floor, but what happened next unexpectedly produced Ace-Liam's initial artwork.
That first creation was named “The Crawl,” Eghan, 25, told The Associated Press.
The story did not end there. With encouragement from his mother, Ace-Liam continued experimenting with paint.

His Painting Journey Continued
Eghan eventually decided to seek recognition for her son's artistic ability. She applied for a Guinness World Records title last June. His initial exhibition was subsequently organized at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra in January. Ten pieces were listed, and nine were sold. Eghan did not reveal the costs at which the paintings were sold.
Guinness World Records later confirmed the accomplishment. The organization cited that “at the age of 1 year 152 days, little Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah from Ghana is the world’s youngest male artist.”
The toddler was officially recognized as the record holder.
Exhibition Helped Him Qualify
Ace-Liam's professional exhibition was a significant part of the process for establishing the record. Nine of his 10 displayed paintings were sold which included a commissioned work for Ghana's First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, who attended the exhibition.Despite the attention about his record, Ace-Liam has remained to paint.
His Mother Says Painting Is About Expression
Eghan says her son's interest in painting is driven by enjoyment rather than a specific message. As he became able to speak, Ace-Liam reportedly featured an eagerness to paint. His mother says his artwork mirrors what he feels and observes around him rather than conveying certain messages.
His painting sessions are rapid. He chooses the size of the canvas and the colors before starting and the amount of time he spends painting varies depending on how he feels.
When he is satisfied with a finished piece, he tells his mother, "Mama finish," as per Guinness World Records.
'The Crawl' Will Stay With the Family
Eghan says the fresh record has not changed their lives. She has decided not to sell “The Crawl,” the painting that started Ace-Liam's journey, and intends to keep it within the family.
For Eghan, the attention surrounding her son also gives an opportunity to encourage other parents to recognize and support their children's talents.
Family Looks Toward His Artistic Future
Ace-Liam's family continue supporting his artistic development through quality education. They are also exploring international scholarship and opportunities for him to sell his artwork internationally. What started when a six-month-old crawling through his mother's painting supplies spread colors in a canvas has since become a record recognized by Guinness World Records.
Currently, Ace-Liam continues to paint, play and explore his creativity, with his mother giving the space and encouragement for him to develop his interest.
