84 year old Harrison Ford is the epitome of fitness that defies aging. He is constantly spotted engaging in fitness activities one would not expect from someone in their 80s. Yet he turned heads just a day before his birthday in 2026 for his ripped physique.

The Indiana Jones actor went viral after being spotted on a solo bike rise in Los Angeles showing off his fitness levels. According to Fox News, the actor was sporting a white athletic shirt, black cycling shorts, gloves and a white helmet. Ford’s pictures without his shirt and muscular arms, shoulders and chest made rounds on social media.

Cycling and tennis are key to Ford’s fitness in his 80s

According to Men’s Health, Ford has been engaging in fitness training since the 1980s, at the age of 40. He started training to prepare for ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’. He then began working with trainer Jake Steinfeld.

Steinfeld told Men’s Health that the goal of Ford’s training is not to look like a bodybuilder but to gain an “athletic and functional physique”. The actor has been working with another trainer, Jamie Milnes for a long time. Ford engages in workout focused on core strength and conditioning of the whole body. According to Milnes, this helps him maintain his strength and mobility.

However, cycling and training are also key to his fitness. During an interview with Film Inside in 2025, Ford said that he does not do much, but keeps himself physically active consistently. He further said that he plays tennis and rides his bike to do so.

According to The Telegraph, Ford engages in both road and mountain biking to maintain his fitness. He has been spotted several times riding along the trails in Santa Monica. The actor has also previously talked about “training for injury prevention” over everything else. During the Film Inside interview he said, “I am an old fart and I need to protect myself”.

Ford also relies on his diet for fitness

Along with remaining fit and not engaging in straining workout, Ford also credits his diet for his impressive fitness levels. According to Fox News, Ford in 2023 said that he had almost fully eliminated most meat and dairy products from his meals. The actor reportedly believes the decision is healthier for both himself and the environment.

During an appearance on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ talking about the choice Ford said, “I just decided I was tired of eating meat…And I know it’s not really good for the planet and it’s not really good for me.” He further added that he only eats fresh fish and vegetables. He later joked his diet was “really boring”.

Ford’s fitness regime is similar to Liam Neeson

Liam Neeson is another actor popular for his fitness despite his age. Both actors are fit despite not engaging in intense exercise at the gym and rather opting for consistency and natural outdoor activities. During an interview with Fox News, Neeson said that he does not “go to a gym at all”. He added that one does not need to spend long hours in the gym like he used to years ago.

During the interview the actor revealed that he has been skipping the gym and has instead opted for a daily walking routine to keep him fit at 74. He also said that he only chooses to up the training while a script requires action scenes.
