One Girl Scout has gone crazy viral, not just for her amazing work but also an unforgettable look that has caught the fancy of the internet. Sicilia, a member from the Sierra Nevada troop, was highlighted by the official Girl Scouts Instagram account for her inspiring Gold Award project. But it was her goth look that turned her into an online sensation.

Sicilia's Gold Award project

On Tuesday (September 29), the Instagram account of Girl Scouts featured Sicilia's Gold Award project, as part of which she created a series of educational videos about properly caring for bearded dragons after recognizing the problems that can come up when owners do not have access to reliable information.

Sicilia also gave presentations to younger Scouts about responsible pet ownership, creating resources that will continue helping reptile owners beyond the project. "By making reliable care information more accessible, Sicilia created a resource that can continue helping reptile owners make informed choices long after her project," Girl Scouts said in the post.

In the accompanying photo, Sicilia appears to be channeling serious goth vibes, sporting spiked black hair with bangs and a chunky choker necklace. She also donned her brown Girl Scouts vest covered in patches, bringing a unique look that netizens clearly didn't see coming.

Sicilia's look excites Instagrammers

Sicilia excitedly jumped into the comments section, announcing: "THATS ME GUYS!!!!!" Several users hailed Sicilia's work, and more so, her picture. "Ohhh this photo is legendary," one user wrote.

"As a former girl scout who was the only goth in the troop, this is iconic and advocating for proper reptile care is even more iconic," another said. "As the mom of a 9yo Goth Scout who loves animals I cannot wait to show her her new role model," a third user wrote.

Sicilia, aged 18, told Yahoo that the inspiration for the project came from her own pet bearded dragon called Britney Spikes -- a tribute to the pop star Britney Spears.

What is the Gold Award?

Girl Scouts are members of a global youth organization dedicated to building leadership, confidence, character, and practical life skills among girls and young women. The Gold Award is the highest honor that a Girl Scout can earn in the US.
