Bitcoin price today slipped below $81,000 despite strong spot ETF inflows, while Ethereum, XRP and Dogecoin also declined. CoinGlass data showed crypto liquidations topping $465 million in 24 hours, adding to pressure on traders as Bitcoin struggl...

BTC USD reached an intraday low of $80,836 during Wednesday’s sell-off and by Thursday it was trading around $81,000 level.
Bitcoin (BTC USD) Struggles Despite Strong ETF Inflows
The decline came even as spot Bitcoin ETFs continued attracting investment. Bitcoin.com News reported more than $1 billion in inflows over three consecutive days. And data cited by Benzinga showed that spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $528.4 million in net inflows on Wednesday. However, the inflows have not yet translated into a sustained price recovery.
Bitfinex analysts said continued institutional demand would be needed to help Bitcoin break above the $84,000 resistance level. The report also put the estimated average cost basis for the ETF investor cohort at $84,333, a level that could be important as Bitcoin attempts to recover.
Ethereum, XRP and Dogecoin Also Decline
Bitcoin’s weakness extended across the broader market. Ethereum, XRP and Dogecoin each fell more than 4% on Thursday, according to Benzinga.Spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $14.96 million in net inflows on Wednesday, even as Ether’s price declined. ETF flows and market prices measure different things, so the inflows alone do not indicate that prices will rise.

Long Traders Take the Biggest Hit
CoinGlass data showed that $465.56 million in crypto positions were liquidated over 24 hours, affecting 103,360 traders. Most of the losses came from traders betting on prices to rise. Long liquidations totaled $427.13 million, while short liquidations reached $38.43 million.Binance accounted for 42.5% of liquidations by exchange share. The largest single liquidation was an $11.78 million BTCUSDT long position on the exchange, recorded at $83,526.24.
BTC USD Outlook Remains Uncertain
Next test for the largest crypto is whether it can regain lost ground and move back toward the $84,000 resistance level.Trader Benjamin Cowen has warned that Bitcoin price (BTC USD) could fall toward the low to mid $70,000s after dropping below $82,000 and struggling to reclaim $83,000, Benzinga noted. That is a downside scenario, not a confirmed forecast.
The substantial ETF inflows have not been enough to prevent a price decline, leaving Bitcoin traders watching whether demand strengthens and the cryptocurrency can recover the key resistance levels.
