Samantha and Kevin Dwoskin started Boss Cow as a side hustle before the mac-and-cheese business crossed $1 million in annual revenue.
How did they come up with the idea?
The couple used their personal experiences with food. Kevin had worked as a banking regulatory compliance consultant for 11 years. He had reportedly changed his diet to whole foods while trying to manage his Crohn's disease. While managing all of this, he came across information about A2/A2 dairy, which contains only the A2 type of beta-casein protein. Many people have digestive issues with conventional milk, and report that they tolerate A2 milk better. Notably, it is not suitable for everyone with dairy intolerance.
Samantha had avoided dairy products for more than a decade due to digestive issues. Later, she also decided to try it and was able to drink it without facing any sort of issues she had previously faced.

Journey of the business

They used $30,000 from their savings for the business. They used that money for ingredients, equipment, branding and a website.
At that time, Samantha was working as a nurse practitioner in a paediatric cardiac intensive care unit. Meanwhile, Kevin continued his job.
