In 2022, Joseph Lee co-founded Supademo as an AI-powered demo platform; by 2026, it served 100,000+ professionals across more than 100 countries
Supademo lets companies build interactive demos of their products. Users can record themselves moving through a website or app. Each click and step is captured along the way. Supademo then turns the recording into a guided product experience.

A live walkthrough worked differently. Lee could click through the product while customers watched. Confusion often disappeared within minutes. One recurring sales problem eventually became the idea behind Supademo.
Supademo Grew Out of a Founder’s Frustration
According to a profile covered by Starterstory, Lee spent six years running Freshline, a technology startup serving the food distribution industry. The product was complicated. Many potential customers were not technical. Slide decks felt lifeless. Recorded videos took time to produce and quickly became outdated.Live product demos delivered the missing “aha” moment.
Koushik Marka had noticed a similar problem. Marka ran a creative agency that made explainer videos. Production was slow. Updating a video after a product change created even more work.
Lee and Marka realised companies did not need another conventional video platform. They needed a faster way to let customers experience a product. The pair co-founded Supademo in 2022.
What Does Supademo Do?
Supademo helps companies create interactive product demonstrations. A user can record a workflow while clicking through a website or application. Supademo turns those actions into a guided experience. This means that viewers can experience the product without logging into a live account. AI tools can also rewrite descriptions or generate voiceovers. Teams can also translate the same demo to other markets.
Supademo now supports interactive walkthroughs and screen recordings. The platform also offers realistic sandbox demonstrations. Companies use the content during sales conversations or customer training.
How Joseph Lee and Koushik Marka Built the First Version
The original Supademo was deliberately simple. Lee and Marka built it with Next.js and Prisma. PlanetScale handled the database. Tailwind CSS helped shape the interface.Feature creep was treated as a threat. Every addition had to make Supademo faster or easier to understand.
Supademo Found Growth Without a Big Launch
No expensive advertising campaign introduced Supademo to the market. There was no major public relations push either.Early growth came through product-led experiments. People could try parts of the platform without registering. Free tools introduced potential users to Supademo. Reverse trials offered temporary access to premium features.
Search also became an important channel. Supademo created interactive tutorials around software questions people were already typing into Google. Each guide showed the platform in action.
Shared demos created another growth loop. A recipient could experience the product and then discover Supademo for their own company. Every shared walkthrough acted like a small advertisement.
One Reddit Post Brought Hundreds of Potential Users
Some of the earliest tactics demanded plenty of manual work.Lee once offered to create free interactive demos for people who shared links to their products on Reddit. The post received more than 11,000 views within 24 hours, according to his account.
Hundreds of comments followed. The work took several hours, but it introduced Supademo to new users. Some later became paying customers.
Founder-led content produced similar results. Lee shared honest lessons on LinkedIn. His posts covered experiments as well as mistakes. The approach helped him grow from roughly 1,000 followers to 14,000 followers in one year, he told Starter Story.
Supademo Crossed 100,000 Users, Then Kept Growing
An earlier company milestone placed Supademo above 100,000 professionals in more than 100 countries. Lee said the business was profitable and generating mid-seven-figure annual recurring revenue.Supademo’s review of 2025 later reported 150,000 free users. The company had more than 2,000 paying customers. Revenue had grown fourfold over the previous year.
Growth continued during 2026. Supademo’s website now says the platform is trusted by more than 200,000 professionals at over 3,000 organisations. A company blog page also says Supademo has moved beyond $4 million in annual recurring revenue.
The Mistakes That Changed Supademo
Lee has been open about the company’s early mistakes. Supademo once charged only $12 per month for five seats. The founders also spent too much time studying competitors. Some energy went into conversations that never produced customers. The lesson was simple. Ship useful improvements. Keep selling. Stay close to customers. Supademo’s growth suggests the ordinary work mattered more than flashy startup tactics.
