It analyses the images and provides a report highlighting possible safety risks.
It was developed by Justin Strause. He is a physical therapist with experience in geriatric care and home safety.
The tool has one simple aim. It is designed to help older people and their families identify hazards that could make everyday movement more difficult.
It may include obstacles, slippery surfaces, unsafe stairs and other features that can increase the risk of falling.
How does it work?
Users have to first answer questions about their health, mobility and other factors. Then they are asked to upload images of the rooms they want to assess.SafeHome AI will then analyse the images and the questionnaire responses. It will then generate a home-safety report. This will provide information about potential hazards and rank them by severity and suggest changes that could make the space safer.
