Zarian Dyer, 23, was arrested on Thursday, October 29, on charges including “aggravated assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping and conspiracy,” the Buckeye Police Department said in a press release.
Investigators allege that Dyer had entered into an agreement with 20-year-old Adrian Ayala, whom he met online, to “sexually assault” his fiancée. Ayala was arrested on October 17, a day after the attack.
As per the police, around 6 p.m. on Friday, October 16, this incident happened at a home near Southern Avenue and Miller Road in Buckeye. Police responded to an assault report after the woman said an unknown man had entered her home and attacked her while she was there with her children.

According to court records cited by the Merced Sun-Star, the woman told investigators that she noticed a “random man” poking his head through the front door shortly after her fiancé had left to pick up groceries.
Ayala allegedly kicked open the front door and forced his way inside. He then “began to choke her by grabbing her by the neck”, according to the court records.
The assault continued into the bathroom, where Ayala locked himself inside with the woman. He then tried to “undo the button on the victim's pants but was unable to” and then grabbed her breasts.
The woman eventually managed to get her attacker outside and continued fighting him in the driveway. Home security footage obtained by Arizona's Family showed her pushing him away, slapping him, and shouting at him as he leaned his weight into her.
As she fought back, Ayala was seen telling her: “Your boyfriend sent me.” The woman then asked him who sent him, before he fled and she chased him down the street.
How police uncovered the alleged plot
The day after the attack, Buckeye police identified Ayala as the suspect and arrested him at his home in Goodyear. During his arrest, Ayala claimed that he had gone to the woman's home after meeting her fiancé online and agreeing with him to sexually assault her, according to the police. As part of the investigation, detectives seized Ayala's electronic devices and a phone belonging to the victim's fiancé, identified as 23-year-old Zarian Dyer.
“In reviewing data from those devices, investigators found evidence that Ayala and Dyer were communicating about the planned assault,” police said.
Detectives contacted Dyer at his workplace near Roosevelt and Verrado Way on October 29 and arrested him. “The motive behind the plot is unknown at this time,” the Buckeye Police Department said.
