Following are the things given by finance minister in Budget 2024
1. Income tax slabs in the new tax regime have been changed, and relief has been offered.
2. Standard deduction limit for salaried and pensioners hiked to Rs 75,000 - an increase of Rs 25,000 in the new tax regime (NTR)
3. Standard deduction limit for family pensioners hiked to Rs 25,000 -an increase of Rs 15,000 (NTR)
4. Deduction on employer's contribution to NPS account hiked to 14% from 10% - brought on par with the government employees in (NTR)
5. Exemption on capital gains from long term equity hiked to Rs 1.25 lakh - an increase of Rs 25,000

7. Reduction in LTCG tax rate from 20% to 12.5% - a decrease by 7.5%
8. NPS scheme for minors announced.
9. Time limit for re-assessment of old income tax returns reduced
