New HDFC Bank credit card rules from August 1, 2024.
HDFC Bank has made some important changes regarding terms and charges for its credit card customers. These changes are effective from August 1, 2024, as per the HDFC Bank website.
New HDFC Bank credit card fees, charges applicable from August 1, 2024
Rental Transactions: If you use services like (but not limited to) CRED, PayTM, Cheq, MobiKwik, Freecharge, and others to pay rent, a 1% fee will be charged on the transaction amount and capped at Rs 3000 per transaction.
Fuel Transactions: Consumer Cards: There won't be any extra fees if you spend less than Rs. 15,000 on fuel every transaction. Nevertheless, a 1% fee will be applied to the total amount, up to a maximum of Rs 3000 per transaction, if you spend more than Rs 15,000 on petrol every transaction.
Business Cards: If you spend less than Rs 30000 on petrol per transaction, you will not be charged an additional cost. However, if you spend more than Rs 30,000 each transaction on petrol, a 1% fee will be imposed on the whole amount, with a maximum of Rs 3000 per transaction.
International / Cross Currency Transactions: If you make an international or cross-currency transaction, a 3.5% markup fee will be applied. *The markup fee will continue at 2% for Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, Diners Black (Metal Edition), Biz Black Metal Card, Regalia Gold, BizPower, Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank, and 2.5% for 6E Rewards Indigo XL.

Rewards Redemption towards Statement Credit:

If you redeem your rewards towards statement credit (CashBack), a Rs 50 redemption fee will be charged.
Rewards Redemption charge will not be applicable for Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, Diners Black (Metal Edition), BizBlack Metal,Swiggy HDFC Bank,Flipkart Wholesale.
Finance Charges: Finance charges of 3.75% (per month) will be imposed from the date of the transaction until the outstanding debt is paid in full if you opt to pay less than the total amount due as shown on the monthly billing statement because you have access to the revolving credit facility. Relevant to all monetary and retail transactions. For Infinia, Infinia (Metal Edition), Diners Black, Diners Black (Metal Edition), and BizBlack Metal, the finance fee will stay at 1.99% per month.
Easy-EMI Processing Fee: If you avail the Easy-EMI option at any online / offline store, EMI processing fee of up to ?299 will be charged.
All fees are subject to GST as per government regulations. The Merchant Category codes are defined by the network (Visa, Master Card, Rupay, Diners). HDFC Bank does not define the merchant category. The above mentioned charges are not applicable to Pixel Credit cards. Only Rental Transaction Charge will be applicable to Commercial Credit Cards.
