How to check if your credit card offers domestic and international lounge access?

The first thing most of us check while opting for a credit card is the number of free airport lounge visits it offers. Most credit cards offer complimentary or discounted entry to airport lounges across various domestic and international airports. However, these free lounge visits are usually limited by the card issuer. Higher-tier cards, which require high quarterly spending, may offer unlimited access or allow guests.

You can do so by visiting the official website of your credit card issuer. Next, navigate to your card’s benefits or lounge access section. Look for a list or link that enlists all eligible airports and lounges available with a particular credit card. This list generally includes lounge names, terminals, and locations.

The easiest way to do so is to go to the lounge desk at the airport terminal and ask if your card is accepted. The lounge staff will swipe or scan your card to verify your access. In case one card doesn’t work, you can try using another card, since most of us have multiple credit cards. Most lounges also display accepted banks and credit cards on standees or boards.

Some credit cards, generally those which come with a higher spending limit, come with Priority Pass, LoungeKey, or similar programs for international lounge access. Download their app or visit the official website to check whether or not your card offers this access or not. Search for your airport or destination city to find eligible lounges. You’ll see the terminal, lounge names, and access details.

Remember that if the complimentary access limit on your credit card is exhausted, you’ll be charged the full lounge fee. Lounge access is usually allowed only 2–3 hours before your flight, with benefits like food, drinks, or spa services varying by card, lounge, or even partner airport restaurants.
