Why should you check your Aadhaar authentication history?
Check the Aadhaar authentication history to ensure that Aadhaar is not being used for transactions you are not aware of. If the mentioned authentication transaction is not completed by the you, contact the relevant Authentication User Agency (AUA) for more information.


One can check authentication history service to check where all you have used Aadhaar based biometric, OTP or demographic authentication for availing various services.

According to the latest tweet by the UIDAI, “You can see your Aadhaar authentication history for last six months on UIDAI website or mAadhaarApp. Do check the same periodically.”


How to check Aadhaar authentication history

Step 1: Visit UIDAI's official website (Unique Identification Authority of India).
Step 2: Select ‘Aadhaar Authentication History’ from the list of services under the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.
Step 3: enter the Aadhaar number or the Virtual ID (VID) number to request an OTP verification.
Step 4: Choose the authentication type, date range and number of records to display.
Following OTP verification, Aadhaar details and previous authentication requests will appear on the screen.

UIDAI gives a maximum of 50 records over the last six months. It also allows you to save the result as a PDF file.

According to the UIDAI website, resident can get the following information in Aadhaar Authentication history against every Authentication done by resident.
1. Auth Modality.
2. Date & Time of Authentication.
3. UIDAI Response code.

5. AUA Transaction ID (With Code)
6. Authentication Response (Success/Failure)
7. UIDAI Error code

What is UIDAI Response Code in the authentication records?
For every authentication transaction performed by an Aadhaar number holder, UIDAI generates a unique code to identify the transactions and sends the same to Authentication User Agency (AUA) along with the response. This Response Code is helpful to uniquely identify the transaction by AUA as well as UIDAI and may be used for any further enquiry from AUA by the Aadhaar number holder.

Combination of the first 4 letters of name in CAPITAL and the year of birth (YYYY) as password.
