Budget 2026 has kept the amount paid to a PM Kisan beneficiary unchanged at Rs 6,000 per year. Under the PM-Kisan initiative, all landholding farmers' families receive financial assistance valued at Rs 6,000 per year , payable in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The financial reward is directly credited to the recipients' bank accounts.

During a pre-budget engagement with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in December, farmer leaders and agricultural stakeholders had requested the government to increase the income support under the PM-Kisan scheme, cut taxes, and offer cheaper long-term financing.
