SBI unpaid dividends: How to claim

Many investors lose track of dividends over the years because they change their address or bank account, forget about old investments, or hold physical share certificates that were never updated.

If your SBI dividends have remained unclaimed for seven years, they may have been transferred to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF). Here's how you can check whether you have any unpaid or unclaimed SBI dividends and the steps to claim them.

State Bank of India on it social media X posted, “Visit the State Bank's website at sbi.bank.in/web/investor-relations/share-holder-bond-holder-information and use the search facility option under 'Unpaid Dividend' tab for more details.”

When are dividends sent to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF)?

If the dividend remains unclaimed for seven years after being transferred to a company's unpaid dividend account, the company must transfer the amount, along with any accrued interest, to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF).
