In its message posted on its official website, SBI has urged customers to switch to other secure and widely used digital payment options—such as UPI, IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS—for transferring money to third-party beneficiaries.
According to a message on the SBI website, “mCASH (Sending & Claiming) facility will not be available in OnlineSBI & YONO Lite after 30.11.2025. Please use alternate modes of transactions such as UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, etc., for the transfer of money to third-party beneficiaries.”
How customers use mCash
After downloading the SBI mCash Application from Google Play Store, register a MPIN for log in. Using the registered MPIN, customers can login into the SBI mCash app.
What are the functionalities of mCash?
Claim fund sent by a State Bank customer using a PasscodeTransfer claimed funds to your account maintained at any bank
Customers can set an account number and the IFSC code as favourites for future claims
How mCash worked
State Bank of India mCASH allows recipients to claim money sent by SBI customers through OnlineSBI or State Bank Anywhere. With this service, any SBI customer who has Internet Banking can transfer funds to someone without registering them as a beneficiary—simply by using the recipient’s mobile number or the email ID.On the recipient’s side, anyone with a bank account in any bank can claim money either through the State Bank mCASH mobile app or via the mCASH link provided on OnlineSBI. The beneficiary will receive an SMS or email containing a secure link along with an 8-digit passcode, depending on the method chosen by the sender.
How to send money using UPI
mCash customers can use SBI UPI to send and receive money“BHIM SBI Pay” (UPI App of SBI) is a payment solution that allows account holders of all banks participating in UPI to send money, receive money and do online bill payments, recharges, shopping, etc., using their smartphones.
How to transfer money
Step 1: Login to the BHIM SBI Pay AppStep 2: Select option ‘Pay’
Step 4: Enter other required details
Step 5: Select Debit Account from the linked accounts and Click on the ‘Tick’ mark
Step 6: Enter UPI PIN to authorise the transaction
