SBI changes IFSC codes of 1,300 branches. Here's help to find out your branch's code

State Bank of India (SBI) has changed the IFSC codes and names of 1,300 branches after the merger of five its associates. The banking behemoth has changed the names and IFSC codes of branches located in major cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Lucknow.

The IFSC, is an 11-digit alpha-numeric code used to uniquely identify all bank branches participating in any Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulated funds transfer system. An IFSC code is required to transfer money from one account to another using RTGS, NEFT or IMPS methods.

SBI has put up the list of branches with old and new names and IFSC codes on its website. You can use this handy tool as well to find out the IFSC code of your SBI bank branch.
