Saturday bank holiday: Check if banks are open or closed today on August 30, 2025?

Bank holidays in India often create confusion, especially when it comes to Saturdays. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has a fixed guideline for this: banks are open on the first, third, and fifth Saturdays of the month while the second and the fourth Saturdays of every month are bank holidays.

In addition to Saturdays, banks are also closed for national and regional holidays. Therefore, it is important to note that closure of bank branches will vary across states.

Are banks open or closed today on August 30, 2025?

Since today is the fifth Saturday of the month, banks will remain open on August 30, 2025. Customers can visit their bank branches for transactions as usual.

Digital banking

Even on bank holidays, digital services remain unaffected. Customers can use internet banking, mobile apps, ATMs, and UPI for fund transfers, bill payments, and other essential transactions anytime, anywhere.

However, there are still many transactions which need branch visits such as submitting or updating KYC documents such as ID, address proof, PAN, Aadhaar, signature update or re-verification, depositing or withdrawing large amounts of cash beyond ATM limits, dispute resolution or complaint escalation requiring physical verification. In case of settlement of deceased account holder claims such as submission of death certificate, succession certificate, etc.
