Banks work on the first, third and fifth (in some cases) of the month, unless specified as a holiday in the RBI calendar.

Digital banking will be available

If you have registered for net banking and mobile banking with your respective bank, whether it's midnight or a public holiday, you can check your balance, transfer funds, or pay bills anytime from anywhere. You can open accounts, update KYC details, apply for loans, or request a debit card, all through a mobile app or a website.

However, there are still many transactions which need branch visits such as submitting or updating KYC documents such as identity (ID) proof, address proof, PAN, Aadhaar, signature update or re-verification, depositing or withdrawing large amounts of cash beyond ATM limits, dispute resolution or complaint escalation requiring physical verification. The settlement of a deceased account holder’s claims, such as the submission of death certificate, succession certificate, etc., can also be done by visiting a bank branch.
