Here’s a detailed look at the revised PNB charges
Stop payment instruction
The existing charges for stop payment instruction in a PNB savings account is Rs 100 per instrument. In cases where a stop payment is requested for a series of cheques, the bank levies a charge of Rs 300 for a range of three or more cheques.Under the proposed modifications from October 1, 2025, the charges for issuing a Stop Payment Instruction for savings accounts will remain the same at Rs 100 per instrument. However, if the instruction is given for a series of cheques, a fee of Rs 500 will be levied for a range of five or more cheques.

Locker issuance charges
PNB has hiked the locker rent charges depending on the size of the locker and the place of the branch. The revised locker rent will be applicable on the next annual rent due date. Under the proposed modifications, charges for small lockers will be Rs 1,000 in rural (remains the same), Rs 1,500 for semi-urban areas (increased from Rs 1250), and Rs 2,000 (remains the same) for urban and metro areas.For medium-sized lockers, the charges are Rs 2,500 for rural areas (increased from Rs 2,200), Rs 3,000 for semi-urban areas (increased from Rs 2,500) and Rs 4,000 for urban and metro areas (increased from Rs 3,500).
Large category locker charges are Rs 4,000 for rural areas (increased from Rs 2,500), Rs 5,000 for semi-urban areas (increased from Rs 3,000), Rs 6,500 for urban areas and Rs 7,000 for metro areas (both increased from Rs 5,500).
For very large (V Large) lockers, charges are Rs 6,000 for rural areas (remains the same), Rs 7,000 for semi-urban areas (increased from Rs 6000), Rs 8,500 for urban areas and Rs 9,000 for metro areas (both increased from Rs 8000).
For Extra Large (E Large) lockets, charges will be Rs 10,000 for rural areas (remains the same), Rs 10,500 for semi-urban areas, Rs 11,000 for urban areas and Rs 12,000 for metro areas (all 3 increased from Rs 10,000).
One-time registration charges
As far as one-time registration charges at the time of leasing out of ockers are concerned, the existing charges are Rs 200 for rural and semi-urban branches and Rs 500 for urban and metro branches.Standing instruction (SI) failure charges
For standing instruction (SI) failure charges, PNB levies Rs 100 per transaction along with remittance charges and actual postage for the non-execution of SI due to insufficient funds. It applies to all types of transactions. Under the proposed guidelines, instead of charging per transaction, a flat fee of Rs 100 per month plus GST will be applied, regardless of whether one or three SI transactions fail in that month. Additionally, a maximum of three SI transactions will be allowed for term loans (TL), recurring deposits (RD), etc.
Nomination Charges
The existing rule is that first-time requests are free; thereafter, a fee of Rs 100 per occasion is levied.Under the proposed modifications from October 1, 2025, the first-time request remains free; thereafter, Rs 100 per occasion will be charged, except in the case of the nominee’s death. In such cases, the request will be handled operationally at the branch upon the submission of the nominee’s death certificate.
