The PM Kisan scheme's 22nd installment of Rs 2,000 is keenly anticipated by many farmer beneficiaries. The date of PM Kisan's 22nd installment has not yet been announced by the government.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is a central government scheme that aims to offer income support to all eligible landholding farmers' families in the country in order to help them meet their financial demands for agricultural and allied inputs.


When will eligible farmers receive the 22nd instalment of the PM Kisan scheme?

Eligible beneficiaries will receive the 22nd instalment of the PM Kisan scheme tentatively between February end and March 2026. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme disburses Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmer families in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000.


The 21st PM Kisan instalment was disbursed in November 2025, so considering this, the next instalment would be between February–March 2026.

Is the farmer ID mandatory for receiving PM Kisan benefits?

The farmer ID has been made mandatory only for new registrations under PM-Kisan in 14 states where farmer registry work has commenced. Note that this requirement is for new registrations only.

In states where farmer registry work has not yet started, farmers can register without a farmer ID.


Which are the states where farmer registry work has commenced?

New registration farmers in states such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh should produce a farmer ID for registration.


Is PM Kisan eKYC mandatory?

According to the PM Kisan website, "eKYC is mandatory for PM Kisan-registered farmers. OTP-based eKYC is available on the PM Kisan portal, or nearest CSC centres may be contacted for biometric-based eKYC."


How to check PM Kisan beneficiary status

Step 1: Visit the official PM Kisan portal
Step 2: Under ‘Farmers corner’, click on ‘Beneficiary Status’
Step 3: Enter Aadhaar number, Account number or mobile number and captcha code
Step 4: Click on the ‘Get Status’ tab.

Which farmers may not receive the next PM Kisan instalment?

The government has identified certain suspected cases that may fall under exclusion criteria outlined in PM-Kisan scheme guidelines. These include, for example:

Farmers who acquired land ownership after February 1, 2019.
Cases where more than one family member is receiving benefits (e.g., both husband and wife, an adult member, a minor, etc.).
The benefits for such cases have been temporarily withheld till their physical verification is completed.
Farmers are requested to check their eligibility status on the Know Your Status (KYS) option on the PM Kisan website/mobile app or the Kisan eMitra chatbot for further details.
