There has been a social media post stating that the Reserve bank of India (RBI) has issued new rules prohibiting the use of black ink on cheques. However, the government's Press Information Bureau (PIB) has clarified that the claim circulating about prohibition of the use of black ink on cheques is fake.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the PIB Fact Check account stated, “It is being claimed in social media posts that RBI has issued new rules prohibiting the use of black ink on cheques. This claim is fake Reserve Bank of India has not prescribed specific ink colors to be used for writing cheques.”

The government's Press Information Bureau (PIB) has urged customers to be wary of a 'SBI Rewards' scam. According to an advisory from the government’s nodal agency, a viral message encourages people to download an app called 'SBI Rewards.' This message was identified as part of a hoax designed to deceive users.

Rs 7 coin in honor of former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Recently, a phony social media post claimed that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) would be producing a Rs 7 coin in honor of former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. A manipulated picture of the coin was included with the assertion, which implied that Dhoni's contributions to Indian cricket will be acknowledged. The Press Information Bureau (PIB), however, has verified that this assertion is untrue.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman endorsing investment project
Social media users are sharing a video that has RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman promoting the government's investment platform to earn daily income easily. PIB Fact clarified that this video AI-driven voice cloning and face feature manipulation were used to change. Such projects are not supported by Shaktikanta Das or Nirmala Sitharaman. As a result, the post's assertion is fake.
