How to activate Paytm UPI international to pay in UAE, France, Singapore using Paytm app

Indian travelers can now use their Paytm UPI app to make seamless, cashless payments at destinations where UPI is accepted. One97 Communications Limited (OCL), which owns the Paytm brand has enabled Paytm users to make international UPI payments at select global locations.

Payments can be made in popular spots in the UAE, Singapore, France, Mauritius, Bhutan, and Nepal.

Using the Paytm app, users may quickly set up UPI International with a one-time activation linked to their bank account. For convenience, the app will immediately prompt activation when you scan a UPI-enabled QR code overseas. Depending on their journey, travelers can select a usage period ranging from one to ninety days. They can also disable the service at any time to make sure payments are made only when they plan to.

The company has recently launched the UPI statement download feature, allowing users to access detailed transaction records in a clear format. This tool supports effective spending tracking, budgeting, and financial management—especially useful during and after international travel.

According to the Paytm website, “UPI (Unified Payment Interface) gives Indian citizens the privilege to make payments to merchants across the country by scanning a QR code or by using a virtual payment address (VPAs). The NPCI has set an official amount i.e Rs 2,00,000, that can be transferred in one day using UPI by activating the international payment facility on your UPI account by clicking on UPI International.”
