How to block your lost, stolen mobile handset using Sanchar Saathi app
Download Sanchar Sathi App and use ‘Block Your Lost/ Stolen Mobile Handset’ facility to report, block, trace, or unblock lost or stolen mobile across all Indian telecom networks. You must fill in details about the device and your personal information, including a police report number and a copy of the report. Note that reported lost or stolen mobile handsets are blocked in telecom networks on pan India basis to prevent any misuse.

How to unblock the mobile handset which is recovered?
To unblock a lost or stolen mobile handset, the user has to report to local Police that it is found. After that user can unblock the phone by any one of the following means:

Through a form submitted on Sanchar Saathi website or through an app.

Fill out the request registration form for unblocking the IMEI of the found phone.

After submitting the form, the IMEI will be unblocked.

If the user has registered the blocking request with State Police, they will have to approach State police to register the unblocking request for their phone.

How does Sanchar Saathi work?
According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB) release, “As soon as any SIM is used with such lost or stolen mobile handset, automated traceability is generated and alert is sent to the citizens as well as the police station concerned where the complaint for lost/ stolen mobile handset was registered. Citizens are provided with the details of police station to be contacted in the generated traceability through SMS.”
