Who is an OCI ?
An Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) is a person with Indian heritage, origin, or roots, or who was an Indian citizen before becoming a foreign national and now carries a foreign passport. These individuals are enrolled under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act of 1955.

What are OCI miscellaneous services and who can avail them?
OCI miscellaneous services refer to services for updating details and re-issuance of OCI Cards, and can only be availed by persons who are already registered as OCI Cardholders.

Examples of eligible cases: issuance of new passport after turning 20; change of personal particulars (e.g. nationality); loss/damage of OCI registration certificate; correction of wrongly submitted personal information (e.g. name, father’s name, date of birth); change of address or occupation.

Which documents are required for re-issuance of OCI Card?
If issuing a new passport: Copies of existing OCI Card, new passport, old passport (unless the old passport has not been returned).
If OCI Card is lost/damaged: Copy of the police complaint (or equivalent report) and copy of OCI Card if available. If the complaint/report is in foreign language, an authorised translation is required.

For change of personal particulars / address / occupation: Documentary proof for the requested changes; for address proof, items like electricity bill, landline phone bill, or rent/lease agreement can be used.
