Not updated Aadhaar in last 10 years? You can update it for free on this portal till June 14

UIDAI is encouraging residents to upload address documents online for revalidating Aadhaar, which is free of cost on myAadhaar portal, only till June 14, 2023. Individuals who have updated their Aadhaar before 10 years or more, should try and make use of the free update option.


According to the UIDAI tweet, “Keep Demographic Details Updated to Strengthen Your Aadhaar. If your Aadhaar had been issued 10 years ago & had never been updated - you may now upload Proof of Identity & Proof of Address documents online at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in ‘FREE OF COST’ from 15 March - June 14, 2023.”


UIDAI replied in a tweet, “UIDAI is encouraging residents to upload address documents online for revalidating Aadhaar, which is free of cost on myAadhaar portal, only. If there is a need to change demographic details (Name,Date of Birth, Address, etc), the residents can use regular online update service, or may visit an Aadhaar centre. In such cases normal charges will apply.”



How to upload address proof for free on Myaadhaar portal

Step 1: Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: Login and select ‘Name/Gender/Date of Birth & Address Update’
Step3: Click on ‘Update Aadhaar Online
Step 4: Select 'address' from the list of demographic options and click 'Proceed to Update Aadhaar'
Step 5: upload a scanned copy and enter the required demographic information.
Step 6: Make payment of Rs 50. ( Not required till June 15).

Step 7: A Service Request Number (SRN) will be generated. Save it for tracking status later.
On completion of the internal quality check, you will receive an SMS

Reasons for update request rejection
The update request can be rejected due to one of the following reasons; -
Wrong PoA/PoI document uploaded –
PoA/PoI document is not self-attested - Transliteration error –
ADVERTISEMENT
Supporting documents not self attested by the resident –
Document uploaded through online SSUP portal are not found to be scanned copies of original documents –
Mobile and Aadhaar shared in the form is incorrect –
Supporting documents are not in the name of the resident.

How many times Aadhaar data can be updated?
Following limits are applicable for the update of Aadhaar information:
Name: Twice in Life Time
Gender: Once in Life Time
Date of Birth: Once in Life Time

Is there any fee involved for Online updation of address?

Yes, for online update of address you have to pay Rs. 50/- (including GST).

What details can I update through Update Aadhaar online Service?

Through this online portal, you can perform only Address and Document update.
For any other update, kindly visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
