Jeevan Pramaan: How pensioners can submit life certificate from home with face authentication: Step-by-step guide using Jeevan Pramaan App

Pensioners don’t necessarily need to visit their bank or treasury office every year to submit their life certificate. They can use the Jeevan Pramaan app to submit their life certificate from the comfort of their home. Such a life certificate can be submitted using Aadhaar-based face authentication through a smartphone.

The facility allows pensioners to submit the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) using their phone’s camera. In this regard, the government is also holding a ‘Digital Life Certificate Campaign 5.0’ from November 1 to November 30, 2026. The aim of the campaign is to assist pensioners in completing their life certificate submission process.

Once pensioners face- authenticate and submit their life certificate, they are issued a Pramaan ID for online access to their DLC.

Stepwise process for submitting Jeevan Pramaan through face authentication

Here is how you can submit Jeevan Pramaan using face authentication

Pensioners must work after setting the details of the pension and Aadhaar-linked mobile numbers. They need to download two applications from Google Play Store.

Step 1: Download the required applications

• Install the two applications on your mobile:

• Aadhaar Face RD app

• App Jeevan Pramaan

Step 2: Open the Jeevan Pramaan app from Google Play Store.

Step 3: Open Jeevan Pramaan. Choose "Operator Authentication".

Step 4: Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email ID (where required), then submit and verify with a one-time password (OTP).

Step 5: Enter Operator Name exactly as per Aadhaar and proceed to Face Scan / Authentication.

Step 6: Go to "Pensioner Authentication". Enter Aadhaar number and mobile number. Verify with OTP.

Step 7: Fill the "Pensioner Identification" form carefully.

Step 8: Provide consent (by checking the consent box) and tap "Face Scan".

Step 8: Look directly at the phone camera and complete face authentication as instructed.

Step 9: After successful submission, the DLC confirmation and Pramaan ID appear. Note down the Pramaan ID. Download/save your certificate from jeevanpramaan.gov.in using Pensioner Login and the Pramaan ID.

Details required

Pensioner name, ension type/ category, Organisation Type, Sanctioning Authority, Disbursing Agency, Agency, PPO Number, and Full Bank Account Number. Never enter a masked/short bank account number.

Digital Life Certificate for pensioners is known as Jeevan Pramaan. It is a biometric-enabled digital service certificate for pensioners. Pensioners of the central government, state government or any other government organisation can benefit from this facility.

How Jeevan Pramaan works

Jeevan Pramaan uses the Aadhaar platform for biometric authentication of the pensioner. A successful authentication generates the DLC, which is stored in the Life Certificate Repository. Pension Disbursing Agencies (PDAs) can access the certificate online.
