What is the rule now?
As of now, passengers who buy online tickets are now unable to adjust their journey dates as there is no option to reschedule the dates. Passengers must cancel their existing tickets and book new ones for the desired date, and also pay the cancellation fees.
The new system will enable travellers to log in to the IRCTC website or app, select their booked ticket, and choose a different travel date or train, as long as seats are available. The only payment required will be the difference in fare, as per the report.
