IRCTC ticket fare hike 2025 from today: List of trains, distance slabs and classes with revised ticket prices
New train rates: Indian Railways announces revised passenger fares starting December 26, 2025. Increases vary by travel distance and train category. Sleeper and first-class ordinary tickets see a minimal 1 paisa per kilometre hike.

Note that tickets booked prior to December 26, 2025, will have no impact of the rate revisions.
For which trains, Railways has revised the fare structure from December 26, 2025?
Fare hike depending on distanceUnder the new fare revision for longer distances, Railways has increased train fare slab-wise. The new fare increases are as follows-
- Rs 5 for distances between 216 km and 750 km
- Rs 10 for distances between 751 km to 1,250 km
- Rs 15 for distances between 1,251 km to 1,750 km, and Rs 20 for distances between 1,751 km and 2,250 km.
- 1 paisa/km increase for sleeper class ordinary, first class ordinary tickets
- In case of sleeper class ordinary and firstclass ordinary tickets, fares have been revised at a uniform and minimal rate of 1 paise per kilometre for non-suburban journeys.
- Train fare increase for mail and express trains (non-AC and AC class)
- For mail and express trains, the fare has been increased by 2 paise per kilometre across both Non-AC and AC classes, including sleeper, first class, AC chair car, AC 3-tier, AC 2-tier and AC first class.

No fare increase for suburban services and season train tickets
There is no increase in fares for suburban services and season tickets, covering both suburban and non-suburban routes. This will not impact daily commuters and can continue to travel without any additional financial burden.
For which trains, Railways has increased fares?
The basic fare has been revised for major train services such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Tejas, Humsafar, Amrit Bharat, Garib Rath, Jan Shatabdi, Antyodaya, Gatimaan, Yuva Express, Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and ordinary non-suburban services, in line with approved class-wise revisions.
No fare increase for AC MEMU, DEMU train tickets
Train fares for services such as AC Memu and Demu services have not been increased.
No increase in reservation, superfast surcharges
No changes have been made to reservation charges, superfast surcharges or other ancillary fees. GST rules remain the same, and fare rounding norms continue as per existing guidelines. Indian Railways has also clarified that the revised fares will apply only to tickets booked on or after December 26, 2025.
