Tatkal booking tips
From July 1, 2025, Aadhaar authentication becomes mandatory for Tatkal tickets. Bookings open a day before the journey - 10 AM for AC coaches and 11 AM for non-AC.

Current booking & current availability
Each booking allows up to four passengers per PNR. The process requires IRCTC login, travel details, passenger info, and OTP authentication for Aadhaar verification.

Refunds for confirmed, waiting, cancelled tickets
Confirmed Tatkal tickets can be cancelled up to 30 minutes before departure, but no refund is given. RAC and waitlisted Tatkal Tatkal tickets get refunds under normal railway rules.

Aadhaar verification now mandatory
To curb misuse, e-Aadhaar authentication is compulsory for all Tatkal bookings starting July 1, 2025. Tickets without successful Aadhaar verification won’t be confirmed.
