ICICI Bank app glitch leaks credit card details: Is your ICICI Bank credit card safe? What bank says

On April 24, several ICICI Bank credit card customers complained on social media that they could view other customers' credit cards on their iMobile Pay app.

According to customer complaints circulating on social media platforms, the glitch exposed sensitive card details like full card numbers, expiration dates, and CVVs. This raised serious security concerns, as it potentially allowed unauthorised individuals to alter account settings and conduct fraudulent transactions, particularly overseas, which often bypass additional verification steps.

Responding to queries, an ICICI Bank spokesperson said, "It has come to our notice that about 17,000 new credit cards which were issued in the past few days were erroneously mapped in our digital channels to the wrong users. They constitute about 0.1% of the Bank’s credit card portfolio."

"As an immediate measure, we have blocked these cards and are issuing new ones to the customers. We regret the inconvenience caused," the bank added.

"No instance of misuse of a card from this set has been reported to us. However, we assure you that the Bank will appropriately compensate a customer in case of any financial loss,” ICICI Bank said.
