How to link Aadhaar card to IRCTC Account online?

Linking your Aadhaar card to numerous services allows you to take advantage of many government initiatives and services. If you are a frequent train passenger, you should be aware that if you want to book more than 6 tickets in a month, you will need to link your Aadhaar to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) account.
However, Aadhaar verification is not required for booking up to 6 railway tickets in a month, for more than 6 Aadhaar is verification is required.

How to link an Aadhaar number with IRCTC account
Step 1: Visit the official site of the IRCTC portal

Step 2: Login using your credentials
Step 3: Click "Link Aadhaar" under the "profile tab"
Step 4: Enter name as per Aadhaar and Aadhaar number
Step 5: Check the Box and click on 'Send OTP'
Step 6: Enter OTP sent on your registered phone number and click Verify OTP button
Step 7: KYC details is fetched from Aadhaar. Click 'Update' tab to complete the Aadhaar verification process
You will receive a pop-up message stating that your ' Your Aadhaar verification is successful and KYC details have been updated.

How to Add Aadhaar Number of a Passenger
Step 1: Login IRCTC using credentials
Step 2: Under 'My Profile' section and click on the 'Master List' option from the drop-down menu
Step 3: Enter all the details requested, such as name, gender, date of birth
Step 4: Select Aadhaar Card from the ID Card Type drop-down menu.
Step 5: click on the "Submit" button

Step 6: Passengers will be added in the Master List with Verification Status as "Pending". No OTP will be sent in case of passenger Aadhaar verification
Step 7: Click on "Click here to check pending Aadhaar verification status" option provided.
Step 8: Passengers' verification status will be "Confirmed" if their Aadhaar data were successfully verified, and "Not Verified" if the verification was unsuccessful.

Users must authenticate possible passengers using their Aadhaar numbers and store the confirmed passengers in the passenger master list. This should be done before beginning the ticket booking procedure if you plan on purchasing more than 6 tickets in a month. At the time of booking, the user can add Aadhaar verified passengers from the master list to book up to 12 more tickets per month.
