The user needs to visit the UDGAM portal and register with mobile number and verify through OTP. Details such as name, PAN, voter ID, or date of birth need to be entered to enable the search of unclaimed deposits. If a match is found, note the bank details and approach the concerned bank branch to claim the amount.Documents
While the UDGAM portal is used only to search and identify unclaimed deposits, the actual claim process takes place at the concerned bank branch.Claimants need to submit valid ID proof (such as PAN or Aadhaar), address proof, and original deposit documents or proof of relationship in case the depositor is deceased.
Points to note
• Only deposits reported by participating banks are searchable; more banks are being added gradually.• Claims are processed directly by the concerned bank, not through the RBI portal.
• Nominees or legal heirs can also initiate claims with appropriate documentation.
