How EPS pensioners can submit Digital Life Certificate using FaceRD app

Jeevan Pramaan is a digital life certificate for pensioners that is biometrically enabled and based on Aadhaar. Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995, provides social security to members during the service, administered by EPFO.

According to an EPFO official tweet, “Face Authentication technology for Digital Life Certificates (DLC) of EPS’95 pensioners through Mobile App”



Benefits of face authentication

• Enable filing of DLC by pensioners who face difficulties in getting their bio-metrics (fingerprint and iris) captured due to old age issues
• DLC submission from home
• NO reliance on any externally registered device
• DLC submission for friends and relatives too
• Pensioners living abroad can also submit their DLC.

How to Submit a Digital Life Certificate via Mobile App for EPS'95 Pensioners

Below are the steps to follow as per the EPFO tweet

Step 1: Download Aadhaar face RD from google Playstore
Step 2: Download Face(android) from Jeevan Pramaan Portal
Step 3: Authentication of operator
Step 4: Pensioner authentication
Step 5: Choosing sanctioning authority, disbursing agency, aadhaar, mobile, PPO number etc
Step 6: Face scan and submit
Step 7: Upon approval, successful life certificate updation and in case of rejection SMS will be sent to pensioner

Deadline for submission of digital life certificate for EPS pensioner

Pensioners covered under Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995 (EPS, 1995) can now submit their life certificate any time during the year. Earlier, EPS pensioners were required to submit the life certificate in the month of November every year. The decision to allow EPS pensioners to submit their life certificate any time during the year was announced by the EPFO via circular dated December 18, 2019. The life certificate once submitted any time during the year will remain valid for one year.
