No! The EPFO WhatsApp channel provides information only. To complete your EPF, EPS and EDLI-related tasks, you need to access the EPFO portal or the Umang app. You can also visit a regional EPF office to complete the tasks through the offline mode.

EPFO extends ECR filing deadline for employers

Earlier, the EPFO has extended the deadline for employers to file the Electronic Challan Cum Return (ECR) for September 2026 from October 15 to October 31. The organisation informed in a tweet dated October 14 that the deadline to file the ECR for September 2026 has been extended.

“Considering the additional time required for filing the ECR due to the revision of the wage ceiling, the deadline for filing the ECR for September 2026 has been extended from October 15 to October 31, 2026,” the EPFO says in the tweet.

The ECR is an electronic monthly return to be uploaded by an employer through the EPFO portal.

The ECR contains member-wise details of wages and contributions to the EPF, EPS and the EDLI.
