Digital life certificate: How will you know that your pension disbursing agency has accepted your Jeevan Pramaan Patra?

Jeevan Pramaan Patra is a biometric-enabled digital service for pensioners. Pensioners of the central government and state governments should submit a life certificate every year latest by November to continue receiving pension without any delay. With the deadline of November 30, 2025, to submit the life certificate approaching, many pensioners want to know if their pension disbursing agency (PDA) has accepted their digital life certificate. If PDA has rejected it, pensioners don’t have many days to resubmit their life certificate.

What is Jeevan Pramaan Patra?

Jeevan Pramaan Patra, or Digital Life Certificate (DLC), is a biometric-enabled Aadhaar-based digital certificate for pensioners. Individual pensioners can generate their Jeevan Pramaan Patra, i.e, DLC, using their Aadhaar number and biometrics.

Benefits of submitting digital life certificate

To submit a digital life certificate (Jeevan Pramaan Patra), a pensioner does not need to present themselves physically before the pension disbursing officer. Once the certificate is submitted, it goes to the concerned PDA, which authorises it, ensuring continuation of pension disbursal to a pensioner. Also each DLC has a unique id called the Pramaan-Id.

How to submit life certificate using face authentication

Here are the simple steps to submit digital life certificate using face authentication
Step 1:
Use any Android smartphone with a 5 MP front camera and internet connection.
Step 2:
Keep your Aadhaar number registered with the Pension Disbursing Authority (bank, post office, or other authority) ready.
Step 3:
Download and install the ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ app and the ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from Google Play Store.
Step 4:
Complete operator authentication and scan the face of the operator.
(The pensioner can act as the operator.)
Step 5:
Enter pensioner details in the app.
Step 6:
Capture a clear photograph using the smartphone’s front camera and submit.

An SMS with a link to download Jeevan Pramaan will be sent to the registered mobile number.

What information should a pensioner provide while generating their Jeevan Pramaan Patra?

A pensioner has to provide their Aadhaar number, name, mobile number and self-declared pension-related information like the PPO number, the pension account number, bank details, the name of the pension disbursing sanctioning authority, the pension disbursing authority, etc, while submitting their life certificate The pensioner needs to provide their biometrics- either the iris or the finger print.

Note: Incorrect information may lead to the rejection of DLC by authorities.

How to know that your pension disbursing agency has accepted your digital life certificate

You need to download DLC from the https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in portal to know the status. If your pension disbursing agency has accepted your digital life certificate, a message will appear at the bottom of the life certificate, informing that it has been accepted. If the PDA rejects it, the message will show that also.
However, if your PDA rejects your DLC, it is recommended that a new JeevanPramaan, i.e Pramaan-ID, be generated by providing all correct information and biometrics.
