In a press statement, the Delhi State Legal Services Authority has also informed that the decision was taken after September 12 was declared as a court sitting day for courts subordinate to the High Court of Delhi.
The National Lok Adalat in New Delhi will hear all types of civil and criminal compoundable cases for amicable settlement, except divorce cases.
Delhi National Lok Adalat new date: October 25, 2026
Earlier, the Delhi State Legal Services Authority had also informed that the September 12 National Lok Adalat, earlier scheduled for September 12, would be held on October 10, 2026 (Second Saturday) and now to October 25, 2026.The Lok Adalat will be organised across all Delhi district court complexes, including Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka and Rouse Avenue court complexes.
Apart from the district courts, the National Lok Adalat will also be organised on October 19, 2026, at the High Court of Delhi, Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs), Permanent Lok Adalats, Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions.
What should Delhi National Lok Adalat litigants do?
Litigants and parties can move an application for listing their cases in the National Lok Adalat before the concerned court, forum or tribunal where their case is pending.In case of pre-litigative matters, an application can be moved before the concerned office latest by seven days before the date of the National Lok Adalat.
What will happen to your traffic challans now?
The statement said that traffic challans, pending on the Virtual Court portal will also be taken up, as per the press statement. Compoundable challans pending till June 30, 2026 will be considered.The facility will be subject to a maximum limit of 50,000 challans per day, until the overall limit of 2 lakh challans is exhausted.
Delhi court sitting days: Check dates before visiting court
Even as Delhi will host BRICS summit on September 12 and 13, the Delhi Traffic Police in its tweet said that the September 12 and 13 will be holidays and sitting for these dates would now happen on October 3 and November 14, 2026, respectively.As far as the case hearings listed for September 11 and 12 are concerned, it has been postponed to September 14, as per the Delhi Traffic Police tweet.
They should check the date of their case before leaving for the court to avoid an unnecessary trip, the Delhi Traffic Police suggests.
