Checking your credit score is now a breeze since more digital platforms are making this feature available to users. TransUnion CIBIL has announced the integration of the consumer CIBIL Score and Credit Information Report (CIR) into the BHIM Payments App, developed by NPCI BHIM Services Limited.

This integration will enable BHIM App users to access, view, and track their CIBIL score and other important credit information immediately within the app. However, this facility operates on a customer consent-based paradigm, with credit information can be accessed only with the user's permission.

How to check free CIBIL Score

Open the BHIM App and swipe down to find 'Free CIBIL Score' option

Step 1: Click on the option (Free CIBIL Score) to view information related to the CIBIL Score, data privacy, and score check limit
Step 2: Enter PAN Card number, First Name as per PAN Card, and last name as per PAN Card. Accept the terms and conditions and click Proceed
Step 3: The CIBIL Score will then appear on the screen

How to raise a dispute if I find inaccuracies in my Free CIBIL Score and Report?

To initiate a dispute, just follow the below mentioned online dispute process.
Step 1: Check your latest CIBIL report: Login for existing users. Enroll for New users
Step 2: Identify the errors in your CIBIL
Step 3: Raise a dispute
Step 4: Login to track your dispute status

Your bank or financial institution reports recent payments on your loan or credit card to TransUnion CIBIL. It usually takes about 15-30 days for these payments to show up in your CIBIL report. If it has been more than 30 days, you can raise a dispute by following these steps. Resolving a dispute may take up to 30 days, depending on the response time of the bank or financial institution.

What should I do if I have closed / paid off the accounts, but they still show as they are unpaid / open?

Your bank or financial institution reports recent payments on your loan or credit card to TransUnion CIBIL. It usually takes about 15-30 days for these payments to show up in your CIBIL report. What should I do if a closed account is showing in my CIBIL report?

Accounts marked as 'closed' will remain visible in your CIBIL report regardless of how long they have been closed. For any desired changes in your CIBIL report, please contact the reporting bank or financial institution. According to the Credit Information Companies (Regulation) Act of 2005, CIBIL cannot alter, delete, or add any information in the database without confirmation from the relevant bank or financial institution.
