There are only a few national bank holidays in the month of September 2021. Other than Ganesh Chaturthi where banks are closed in states like Maharashtra and Gujarat, there are few state-specific holidays.

Along with second Saturdays and Sundays, banks will also be closed on the following days in these states:

  • September 8 (Wednesday): Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva in Assam
  • September 9 (Thursday): Teej (Haritalika) in Sikkim
  • September 10 (Friday): Ganesh Chaturthi/Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/Vinayakar Chathurthi/Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata in states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa
  • September 11 (Saturday): Ganesh Chaturthi (2nd day) in Goa
  • September 17 (Friday): Karma Puja in Jharkhand
  • September 20 (Monday): Indrajatra in Sikkim
  • September 21 (Tuesday): Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day in Kerala
