Banks in India will be closed in the month of July for certain festivals as well as on second and fourth Saturdays and on Sundays. Bank holidays are state-specific holidays for various occasions, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar list. While some holidays differ from state to state, all banks are closed on public holidays. All banks across the nation observe just the holidays that have been gazetted by the government.

The Bank holidays have been designated by the RBI as follows: Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks' Closing of Accounts.
