Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti bank holiday: Are banks closed or open today in your state?

Though many transactions can be made online, there are still transactions which can be done only through a bank branch. If you have any plans to visit a bank branch this week, make sure to check the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar for February 2026.

The RBI publishes a state-wise, month-wise bank holiday calendar every year to avoid confusion of bank holidays as they differ depending on states and festivals. All scheduled and non-scheduled banks observe a public holiday on the second and fourth Saturdays in a month. Banks observe a work day every first, third and fifth (in some cases) Saturday unless specified as a holiday in the RBI calendar.

Banks will remain closed for three days this week; on February 18, February 19 and February 20, 2026. Please note that these holidays are not Pan India and will be observed only in a few states.
