India observes three national holidays across all states and union territories: Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti. Banks are closed in all states in India on these days.

Since Gandhi Jayanti is a national holiday, public and private sector banks, including cooperative and regional rural banks, will not operate across all states and union territories in India on October 2, 2026.
