Id-ul-Ad'ha is a public holiday on June 7th as per the Central Government's holiday list 2025. As this holiday falls on a Saturday, it is the first Saturday of the month, which is typically when banks are open.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made a significant modification to its official bank holiday calendar. The original plan was for banks in Kerala to be closed today in honour of Bakrid (Eid al-Adha). But the holiday has now been rescheduled in accordance with the local government's announcement and the official confirmation of the moon sighting.
The Customers should also note that banks across India will remain closed on June 8, 2025, as it falls on a Sunday, which is a regular weekly holiday for all public and private sector banks.

Although June 7, 2025, falls on a Saturday and the first Saturday of the month, which is typically a working day for banks across India, most banks will remain closed due to state-specific regional holidays (Bakri ID (Id-Uz-Zuha)). This means that both scheduled and non-scheduled banks will observe a public holiday in several states, even though it does not fall on a standard second or fourth Saturday, which are the usual bank holidays.

Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) sets certain holidays, which may differ from state to state.

Transactions that require bank branch visit

However, not all transactions can be done online, some transactions mentioned below will need a branch visit.

Cash deposits/withdrawals above the prescribed limit (often Rs 2 lakh or more) may need to be done in person and require ID proof or PAN.
For updating Know Your Customer (KYC) details involving address change with physical proof, biometric verification, or in-person declaration.
Some banks require a physical form submission and surrender of passbooks, chequebooks, or cards to close accounts, especially fixed deposits or PPF accounts.
Visiting the bank is mandatory to access your locker or to sign agreements for new locker allotment.
High-value DDs or those involving certain institutions often need to be issued physically at the branch.
