Bank holiday for Lok Sabha elections: Banks closed today in these cities for phase 5 of elections

The fifth phase of voting for the 18th Lok Sabha elections is happening today, May 20. On the days of voting, banks in various cities will be closed. Here is a look at the cities where banks will be closed for the fifth phase of the elections.

Cities where banks will be closed for election on May 20

For phase five of the Lok Sabha Election banks will be closed in Mumbai, Lucknow, Belapur, according to the RBI bank holiday list.

Phase 5 elections to happen in these states and UTs
Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh.

Government holidays
The Maharashtra government published a circular addressing the necessity of providing voters with a paid holiday to exercise their voting rights during the Lok Sabha General Election 2024. Furthermore, the government circular specifies that workers, officers, employees, and persons who are voters in the voting regions shall be given a paid holiday to vote on Election Day.

May 23-Buddha Pournima (Thursday)- Banks are closed in Tripura, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu, Lucknow, Bengal, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Srinagar.
May 25- Nazrul Jayanti/Lok Sabha General Elections 2024(fourth Saturday)- Banks are closed in Tripura, Orissa.
