Bank holiday 2025: Banks are closed today in this state

Banks will be closed in one state on February 11, 2025, while banks in other states will operate normally. Banks are closed on all national and local holidays, Sundays, second Saturdays, and fourth Saturdays of each month.

All bank branches are open on the first, third and fifth Saturdays unless there is a holiday declared in the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday list.

Banks in Tamil Nadu will be closed today on February 11, 2025 on the occasion of Thai Poosam festival.


Thai Poosam
Thai Poosam is a Tamil Hindu festival held on the first full moon day of the Tamil month of Thai, which coincides with the Pusam star. The event commemorates the victory of the Hindu god Murugan over the demon Surapadman. During the battle, Murugan is said to have used a vel, a divine spear bestowed by his mother, Parvati.

Banks will be closed in most states on Feb 26 on the occasion of Mahashivratri except Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Bengal, New Delhi, Goa, Bihar and Meghalaya.
