The month of March has five weekends. And banks are working on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. If you are a bank customer confused about whether this Saturday is a working one, then the answer is yes. This Saturday, March 30, is the fifth Saturday of the month and it is a working day.

In India, banks are closed on second and fourth Saturday of the along with Sundays and banks are working on first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.

Banks open for business on March 31, 2024
In order to account for all government revenues and payments in the fiscal year 2023-2024, the Government of India has requested that all bank branches handling government receipts and payments stay open for business on March 31, 2024 (Sunday). The Reserve Bank of India declared this in an announcement dated March 21, 2024.

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) has said that all agency banks should keep their designated branches open for over the counter transactions related to government transactions up to the normal working hours on March 30 and March 31, 2024.
