8th Pay Commission latest news: 8th CPC to visit Kolkata in July 2026; memorandum submission deadline extended

The 8th Pay Commission will hold meetings in Kolkata from July 9 to 10, 2026, to interact with stakeholders including organisations and institutions of the central government, the 8th CPC said in a statement dated May 29, 2026. Even as the 8th CPC revealed dates of Kolkata meetings, the pay commission has also extended the deadline to submit a memorandum from May 31, 2026, to June 15, 2026.

The notice issued on May 29, 2026, also stated that there would be no further extension of the deadline to submit the memorandum to the 8th Pay Commission.

8th CPC to visit Kolkata in July 2026

The 8th Central Pay Commission has announced that it would visit Kolkata, West Bengal, on July 9 and 10, 2026, (Thursday and Friday) to interact with stakeholders, including central government organisations, institutions, unions and associations.

Memorandum submission is necessary to get an appointment with 8th CPC

For taking an appointment with the 8th CPC for a Kolkata meeting, the Commission has also asked applicants to submit a ‘unique memo ID’ generated after filing their memorandum on the official website of the 8th Central Pay Commission.

Who can apply for a West Bengal meeting with the 8th Pay Commission?

An 8th CPC notice said that central government organisations, institutions, unions and associations based in West Bengal and interested in interacting with the Commission during the visit may apply for appointments.

The memorandum should only be submitted on the Commission's website (8cpc.gov.in). Please note that hard copies or physical copies of the memorandum may not be considered by the Commission.

Venue details and the final meeting schedule will be shared later with the selected stakeholders, the 8th CPC said in its statement.

8th CPC meeting schedule for June 2026

The 8th Central Pay Commission will visit Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, from June 1 to June 4 2026, to interact with stakeholders.

The 8th CPC will also visit the Union Territory of Ladakh on June 8, 2026, to interact with stakeholders.

Significance of 8th Pay Commission for central government employees

The 8th Pay Commission has an 18-month deadline to submit its report of recommendations.
The 8th Pay Commission was constituted by the Government of India to review the salary structure, allowances and pension benefits of central government employees and pensioners. The recommendations of the Commission are expected to impact lakhs of employees and retirees across the country.
